Halloween is far from being known as the healthiest of holidays. Every year, the kiddos tend to overdo it on sugar and processed treats that simply aren’t good for them. And let’s face it, you probably dip your hand in the trick-or-treat stash a few times yourself before the night is through, right? We thought so.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. With the candy-filled festivities right around the corner, we’re highlighting some healthier options for you to choose from to offer a frightfully fun trick-or-treating experience for your little goblins this year!
Instead of filling your cart at the store with loads of candy that’s pumped full of added sugars and other processed ingredients, maybe try a few simple alternatives to keep the kids happy, the treats flowing, and the trick’s at bay.
Here are a few of our favorites to help make Halloween a little healthier:
- Finger lights
- Fresh fruit
- Organic suckers and candy
These are just a few ideas to get you started. As long as there’s something colorful and fun to roll around in their trick-or-treat bags and buckets, the kids are bound to have a ball without the sugar rush!
