A Fast Path To New Collagen
Smooth Skin, Hide Scars, Improve Tone
Microneedling is a treatment designed to stimulate collagen production—in fact, it’s often called “collagen induction therapy.”
Collagen is the protein responsible for helping keep skin elastic, supple, and smooth. It’s plentiful when we’re young, but production diminishes as we age, leading to sagging, wrinkles, and roughness.
Microneedling, which is minimally invasive, is an option for smoothing skin, giving it a more toned look, and reducing the appearance of scars and other skin imperfections. There are some home treatments with manual rollers that use a similar technique to microneedling, but these are not nearly as effective as a professional treatment.
Typically, a series of 3-6 microneedling treatments are recommend for optimum results. Microneedling is effective for:
- Acne Scars
- Skin Texture and Tone
- Fine Lines
- Stretch Marks
Is Microneedling Right For You?
To be considered for microneedling, you need to be in good health. A good candidate may have skin imperfections that haven’t responded to home treatments, peels, or other techniques. Microneedling is for people who want skin improvements without the downtime or discomfort of surgery.
Microneedling is typically not a good option if you’re pregnant, taking certain medications, or if you’d be quickly re-exposed to the factors that may have damaged your skin in the first place.
Our Free Consultation can help you evaluate microneedling thoroughly to see if it’s right for you.
What Should I Expect With A Microneedling Treatment?
Using a special microneedling tool, our aesthetician makes small pricks under the skin. These are invisible to the naked eye, but they create significant stimulus for collagen production. The tool is moved across the entire treatment area.
To minimize discomfort, a topical anesthetic can be used (although some patients say they don’t need it). A soothing lotion may be applied after the treatment to prevent soreness and reduce redness. Apart from avoiding the sun, you can resume normal daily routines.
Most patients begin seeing improvements in a couple of weeks, as the body increases collagen production and the skin begins to rejuvenate. Depending on the size of the area being treated and the results you want, additional treatments may be needed. Optimum results are typically seen in the weeks after the last treatment.
You many need more than one treatment for optimum results.
